ADHD Parent Support & Coaching
ADHD Parent Coaching & Support in Columbus, Ohio and Virtually
Parenting a child with ADHD can feel exhausting, confusing, and lonely. The Wear Your Own Hat Parenting Lab helps parents understand their child’s brain, respond with more confidence, and support their family without losing themselves in the process.
Parenting ADHD Kids Shouldn’t Feel This Hard
You’ve tried the reminders. The charts. The consequences. The deep breaths. The late-night Googling.
Sometimes things work for a minute. Then the battles start again.
Maybe mornings are rough. Homework turns into a shutdown. Screens are a constant fight. Your child melts down over something small, and suddenly everyone in the house is overwhelmed.
You love your child deeply. And you are tired.
The risk is not just that your child keeps struggling. The risk is that you start believing you are failing as a parent.
You are not failing. You need a different lens and the right kind of support.
A Brain-Friendly Approach to Parenting ADHD Kids
I’m Christine Kotik, ADHD coach, former educator, and founder of CK ADHD Coaching & Consulting.
I don’t believe in fixing kids. I help parents understand what is really going on beneath the behavior so they can respond with more clarity, compassion, and confidence.
The Wear Your Own Hat Parenting Lab is built around one core belief:
You cannot sustainably support your child if you are completely depleted, dysregulated, and disconnected from yourself.
That’s why this program supports both your child and you.
What Makes This Different
Most ADHD parenting support focuses only on the child’s behavior.
This program looks at the whole family system.
Using my ME HAT framework, we explore how to:
Mind your energy and rhythms
Understand when your child, and you, are most likely to struggle.
Establish boundaries that work
Create structure without constant power struggles.
Harness strengths
See your child beyond the challenges and build from what works.
Attend to your whole self
Recognize that parent regulation matters too.
Take time for what lights you up
Stay connected to yourself, your child, and your family life beyond the hard moments.
This is practical support with room to breathe.
When You Understand ADHD Differently, You Can Parent Differently
Inside this program, you will:
✔ Understand ADHD beyond surface-level behavior
✔ Learn why your child may resist, melt down, avoid, argue, or shut down
✔ Reduce shame for both you and your child
✔ Build realistic routines and systems
✔ Navigate school challenges with more confidence
✔ Learn how to support your child without losing yourself
✔ Connect with other parents who get it
Most importantly, you will stop feeling like you have to figure this out alone.
How It Works
Start with Foundations
Join a 6-week small-group coaching experience designed to give you the shared language, tools, and perspective you need to better understand your child. Each week includes short teaching, real-life discussion, and coaching around what is actually happening in your home.
2
Practice in Real Life
You will choose small, doable actions each week. Not a total life overhaul. Not a giant parenting plan. Just practical steps that help you respond differently.
3
Continue in The Parent Lab
After Foundations, you can stay for ongoing monthly support through The Parent Lab. Because ADHD parenting does not happen in neat 6-week increments. The Parent Lab gives you a place to bring the real situations that come up next: school stress, homework battles, emotional blowups, sibling dynamics, transitions, screens, and the moments when you think, “What do I do now?”
Stories of Change
The 6-Week Starting Point
Foundations is for parents who want to feel less confused, less reactive, and less alone.
Possible weekly themes include:
✔ What is actually going on with my ADHD child?
✔ Why does everything turn into a battle?
✔ What works when typical parenting strategies do not?
✔ How do I handle school support and advocacy?
✔ What does my child need for the future?
✔ How do I support my child without losing myself?
This is not a lecture series.
This is a coaching-based support space where things start to make sense.
The Parent Lab: Ongoing Support
After Foundations, you may choose to continue in The Parent Lab.
This is where we move from learning to living it.
Each month includes a rotating theme and space for real-time coaching. Topics may include:
✔ Mornings and routines
✔ Homework and motivation
✔ Emotional regulation
✔ Screens and technology
✔ School communication
✔ Sibling dynamics
✔ Parent burnout
✔ Transitions, holidays, and summer
✔ Building independence over time
You can stay as long as the support is useful.
